Description
The Aspen from Maxxis is an all-round race tire that rolls very well, is very light, but also offers grip in almost all situations? The ASPEN is MAXXIS' answer to this requirement profile. In the center of the tread, narrow, slightly angled sipe lugs alternate with small, beveled block lugs. This redefines the ideal combination of high traction and easy rolling. The side lugs run in groups of two from the outside to the inside, seen in the direction of travel. This special arrangement provides significantly more grip in curves. Despite all-round suitable lug height of over 3mm and very good puncture protection.
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there's no tube, the risk of punctures goes down, too. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other "Tubeless Ready" tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This makes tubeless mounting on all rims with standard dimensions already successful with the first inflation and with little liquid. Also "normal" Maxxis MTB tires can be mounted tubeless with sealant like tires of other manufacturers, because the carcass fabrics are very dense. Officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by Maxxis are but only the new Maxxis TR models.
The EXO Protection, consisting of extremely cut and abrasion resistant material, protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very tightly woven, lightweight and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains unchanged convincingly good. With the Dual Compound mixture, two different rubber compounds are processed into one tread strip. The arrangement of the compounds is planned according to the desired properties of the tires.
