With Hookless, the transition between tyre and rim is smoother and more aerodynamic. The hookless rims from Zipp have a more efficient resin distribution, resulting in lighter and stronger wheels. An outdoor test commissioned by Zipp has demonstrated the benefits of the Zipp TSE in practice. A total system weight of 85 kg consisting of rider and bike requires 286 watts with the new 404 Firecrest with 25 mm tyres to maintain a speed of 40 km\/h. That's a saving of 4 watts compared to the previous model 404 Firecrest.
