You have surely noticed in our pictures that the saddle is positioned so that it doesn't get in your way during jumps. An \u003cstrong\u003eefficient riding position\u003c\/strong\u003e is not the outcome here.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eThe Tires of a Dirt Bike\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMost \u003cstrong\u003edirt bikes stand on grippy 26-inch wheels\u003c\/strong\u003e, a good compromise between agility and speed. However, to get the youth interested early, there are also some \u003cstrong\u003edirt jumpers with 24-inch tires for teenagers and children.\u003c\/strong\u003e Due to the relatively large tires (compared to BMX bikes), a dirt bike covers a bit more distance than a BMX can. The tires are usually equipped with decent studs, so if your dirt jump bike is really going to tank \u003cem\u003edirt\u003c\/em\u003e, it has enough bite. However, you can also put on smooth tires, then it rolls a bit more efficiently in the city.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eDirt Bike Components – Blasting Without Frills\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDirt bikes save material at all ends! Fat \u003cstrong\u003ebrake systems\u003c\/strong\u003e? No chance – if you brake, you're scared! Thick \u003cstrong\u003egears\u003c\/strong\u003e with lots of speeds? You can get those elsewhere, but not on a pump track bike. A comfy saddle with a dropper post? Forget it! Depending on the model, \u003cstrong\u003ethe front brake is completely omitted on a dirt jump bike.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are \u003cstrong\u003edirt bikes with gears\u003c\/strong\u003e, but they are rare.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe clear advantage of so much minimalism is the \u003cstrong\u003eprice\u003c\/strong\u003e  – what is not on the bike you don't have to pay for, and so Dirt Jump Bikes provide massive riding fun for relatively little money. Furthermore, there is no risk of valuable components being overwhelmed with so much action and constantly needing maintenance, repair, and replacement. The only thing you need to worry about is your next ride – not your equipment. But don't forget: StVZO says No!
