Actually it should be twice as expensive. No cost and no effort, that was our guiding principle to build the most stable, lightest flat pedal with the lowest possible power loss. The original 2009NumberNine Pedal with its finely adjustable cone bearings, as well as its successor, the NumberNine Custom, housed in four industrial bearings, beats easily and reliably in daily use until today without a single pedal break. A high bar for the new, extremely light, Syntace NumberNine Titan, which offers even better stability with almost 30% less weight. After many prototypes and finally a new, even more stringent, own test standard for pedal axles, axle bearings, pedal bodies and even the pedals, the time has come: Syntace is proud to present an unprecedented level of pedal construction.
The Syntace NumberNine² is the first pedal that does not come in just one standard size, but in three proportionally sized sizes. Because it makes sense that the pedal size does not fit a standard person, but as well as possible to you. To rough pedal size orientation applies

Sensational 280 g (size M including 44 pins and grease filling). The 44, nicely placed on the tread, pins sit on a special, slightly concave height arrangement: The middle pins of the NumberNine² Titan are slightly lower, the outer eight pins sitting on raised and completely solid ridges without any recesses.
The built-in, dirt-sealed Syntace Grease Port and the advanced, one-sided open bearing construction make the NumberNineTitan² pedal externally lubricatable within seconds. Much extended shelf life compared to conventionally lubricated ball bearings.
The Syntace suspension system brakes the low-friction foot pedal just enough to hold it in position when the foot is raised, and is ready to move immediately when the foot is replaced. The little "helper" has no noticeable or measurable disadvantages in normal pedaling, as it is just not exactly in the actual power transmission.
