The Gates Carbon Drive is a powerful and reliable drivetrain system for any bike. Clean, quiet, and low-maintenance, these characteristics define all Gates Carbon Drive products. The CDN system has been specifically designed for use on city and everyday bikes. Bikes that are ridden in all weather conditions, parked at the train station or outside the apartment. Bikes where reliability is particularly important. The CDN system is a quiet, clean, low-maintenance drivetrain for urban everyday use and is based on the same carbon fibre technology as the Gates top components. In the CDN system, the carbon fibres of the belt are embedded in a polymer-based plastic. Low maintenance is more important for CDN components compared to other Gates groups than longevity. Their lifespan exceeds that of a regular bicycle chain but is still about one and a half times longer on average. The CDN system thus offers a particularly cost-effective entry into Gates technology.
