Sleek and expandable

Traditional e-bikes have displays, sensors, extra cables, and large switches and buttons as unavoidable standards. But for us, the appearance of a classic, clean bike was a central part of the RS philosophy.

The lightest in its class

RS motor, battery, and electronics are more than half lighter than other E-Bike systems. RS describes a new philosophy where Orbea power, range, controls, and weight are understood as an integrated system. With its sleek, reduced, and integrated appearance without bulky parts, it lets you forget the time and experience the trail and ride even more intensely.

The unique Shimano EP8 RS

For some time, Orbea has been looking for the best solution. When Shimano published the plans for its new EP8 motor, they knew right away: This extraordinary motor provides the perfect platform to implement the RS Power concept. In close collaboration, Orbea took care of developing its own electronics and batteries, while Shimano adapted its EP8 motor to run perfectly with the own RS firmware.

Responsive

All the power of the motor is only meaningful when it is applied purposefully. The EP8 RS system delivers its power very smoothly and with excellent responsiveness.

The aesthetics of simplicity

Many athletes spend hours trying to make their bike a little lighter, eliminate annoying noises, or correct aesthetic flaws. The benefits of bike computers and smartphones are undeniable, yet many athletes do not want to screw a bulky display onto their handlebars or top tube.

OMR Frame

OMR frames combine highly modular and high-strength carbon fibres with a standard layup to optimise the stiffness-to-weight ratio. The use of the so-called bladder molding process with EPS forms and polyurethane inserts (PU) at the head tube and bottom bracket avoids folds and unevenness in critical areas of the frame. At the same time, this saves carbon without compromising the strength of the frame.
