Description
The Sylvan Road is built around a compact pedal body and features a one-sided, one-piece cage plate that is bent around the pedal's end cap, allowing for more clearance in cornering than the Sylvan Touring while also protecting the axle. The tooth profile of the cage plate is essentially flat, so we recommend using toe clips and straps with this pedal.
The Sylvan Road Next is the first major upgrade of our popular Sylvan Road pedals.
The Sylvan Road Next is our new premium pedal that retains the traditional styling of the Sylvan while reducing the weight of the pedal by 24 grams.
The Sylvan Road NEXT pedals use our triple-sealed cartridge bearings - they provide a remarkably smooth and maintenance-free operation with less weight than cup and cone bearings. The low-resistance bearing improves pedal efficiency and makes the NEXT series ideal for long-distance rides.
On the Sylvan Road NEXT pedals, the plate is attached to the pedal body with screws, making it replaceable - or customizable. To match the improved performance, we have upgraded the finish of the Sylvan NEXT pedals.
The Sylvan NEXT is available in high-gloss chrome finish on the axle, pedal body, and tread plates or in chrome axle with black pedal body and black spindle. The high-gloss chrome spindle has extremely strong anti-corrosive properties that provide improved durability against salt and water.
