Description

For the next generation of drivetrains - and riders. The SRAM-Force® cassette XG-1270 is optimised for electronic shifting and uses X-Range™ technology. Clean and precise shifting, starting from ten teeth upwards.

  • Technologies: X-Range, Mini Cluster, XDR
  • Weight: 238 g (for 10 - 26 teeth)

Gradations:

  • 10 - 28 teeth
  • 10 - 30 teeth
  • 10 - 33 teeth
  • 10 - 36 teeth

Mini Cluster
The hybrid construction of the Mini Cluster cassette combines 4 small sprockets, machined from a single steel block, with another 8 sprockets that are assembled individually. The result is a lightweight and robust cassette that is perfect for any ride.

XDR
The XDR drive is 1.85 mm longer than an XD drive. It was developed for road-specific 11-speed rear wheels and occupies the same space as an 11-speed HyperGlide mount.

X-Range
X-Range achieves this by shifting part of the gear range from front to rear. This means they have used a smaller, consistent difference (13 teeth) between the chainrings, while SRAM gives the cassettes a larger gear range (up to 10-36 or 360%!). This means you can stay on the same chainring longer and need fewer shifts at the front, which are inherently less efficient than shifts at the rear. And when a shift is made at the front, the smaller jump is smoother and allows you to reach the correct cadence with fewer compensatory shifts at the rear. Fewer and quicker shifts at the front make it easier for you to find the right gear, and this is a significant performance advantage over conventional drivetrains.

You will find that X-Range is based on cassettes built around a 10-tooth sprocket. This allows us to keep the sprockets and chainrings overall smaller, eliminating the potential weight gain of an 11-tooth drivetrain with a large gear range. The smaller package also reduces system complexity. With X-Range, you get everything you have ever wanted from a drivetrain.
