Black Chili Compound
It’s all about how you mix it!
The rolling characteristics of a tyre's rubber compound are significantly determined by three interacting factors – grip, rolling resistance, and durability. The dilemma: improving one of these factors will inevitably worsen at least one other. A tyre with maximum grip wears out faster and rolls slower. If you make the tyre faster or more durable, its grip decreases.

With the BlackChili compound, a tread mixture based on the latest findings in polymer and raw material research, Continental has provided the cycling scene with a lasting answer. Depending on the intended use of a tyre, they specifically adjust the mixture recipe – whether for road bikes or mountain bikes, for time trials or downhill.

For BlackChili, special synthetic rubbers are refined with proven natural rubber to create particularly high-performance tread mixtures. These mixtures are then supplemented with carbon black particles, which are optimised in shape and surface properties.

Lazer Grip
Continental introduces Lazer Grip for the first time in a bicycle tyre. They take grip to the next level and equip your tyre with a specially laser-etched shoulder area. This provides increased cornering grip and allows you to become one with the road. Additionally, the dark areas look particularly elegant due to their velvety surface.

Active Comfort Technology
The revolutionary approach in road cycling. Integrated into the tyre construction, Active Comfort Technology absorbs shocks and provides an outstanding riding experience.
