Description
The Sylvan Track NEXT features a short, two-part, one-sided cage built around a compact pedal body, allowing sufficient ground clearance in corners. The Sylvan Track NEXT was designed for use on the steep banks of a velodrome but is also suitable for road use. The tooth profile of the cage plate is almost smooth, so we recommend using toe clips and straps for this pedal.
The Sylvan Track Next is the first major upgrade of our popular Sylvan Track, which was first launched in 1979.
The Sylvan Next is our new premium pedal that retains the traditional design of the Sylvan while reducing the pedal weight by 25 grams.
Sylvan NEXT pedals use our triple-sealed cartridge bearings, which provide remarkably smooth and maintenance-free rotation at a lower weight than cone and cup bearings. The low-friction bearing improves pedalling efficiency and makes the NEXT series ideal for long-distance rides.
On the Sylvan NEXT pedals, the plate is attached to the pedal body with screws, making it interchangeable or customisable.
In line with the improved performance, we have also enhanced the surface of the Sylvan NEXT pedals. The Sylvan NEXT is available with a high-gloss chrome mirror finish on the axle and pedal body or with a chrome axle and black pedal body. The high-gloss chrome spindle has extremely strong corrosion protection properties and offers improved resistance to salt and water.
