Zipps 303 S Series Tubeless for disc brakes offers today's cyclists the versatility they demand and the speed they seek. Drawing on its great victories in the spring classics, these 303 wheels maintain their ideal rim height of 45 mm under all conditions – however, they receive a significantly larger internal width to improve the qualities and handling of the wheels in almost every measurable way. Road bikes today are significantly more versatile than ever before. The 3030 S offers a completely new rim profile and design to further enhance the performance of riders in this bike category. These wheels are made for tubeless use and with disc brakes, allowing the use of wider tyres at lower pressures – and that at racing speeds on and off paved roads. The 303 S is one of our lightest wheels and is optimised for the best aerodynamics for 28 mm tyres. However, it also handles wide gravel tyres up to 50 mm. The 303 S utilises design approaches from the higher-end 303 Firecrest Tubeless for disc brakes, making it more efficient and therefore faster. This is achieved by reducing the following factors: air resistance, rolling resistance, fatigue, and weight. The innovation responsible for this is the design of the 303-S series rim. The profile is also 45 mm high like its predecessor, the 302 for disc brakes. The new rim is 2 mm wider externally, namely 27 mm, and the rim bed is a full 7 mm wider at 23 mm. The rim platform is fastest with 28 mm tyres. Due to its width, the rim optimises the tyre shape and allows for lower air pressure. This helps reduce rolling resistance and makes riding more comfortable. The result of all this is a power saving of 10 watts compared to high-end wheels from competitors at 40 km/h on flat roads with 28 mm tyres, as internal tests at Zipp have shown.
