Silca Ultimate TPU Tube, On-Road

TPU tubes have long been our favourite as a replacement in the saddlebag, as they take up so little space in the bag. This allows you to carry two tubes where previously only one would fit. The problem for a long time was that the plastic valves easily detached from the tube itself, the valve inserts were often pushed into the plastic, leading to leaks, and the sleeve connection where the tube was attached often failed.  

A replacement tube is of no use if it falls apart during use. SILCA aims to change that. Our TPU tubes feature patented technology for mechanically securing the valve to the tube and a welded connection that prevents failures. An aluminium threaded valve protects the tube from the heat of electric pumps and ensures a rattle-free and secure design with a valve nut.  

TPU materials have made great strides in recent years and achieve nearly the rolling resistance efficiency of latex tubes or tubeless systems – and at a fraction of the weight of latex. Our tubes weigh between 45 and 62 g, keeping the weight lower than ever before, while the rolling resistance
