Maxxis Aggressor folding tire - 29x2.30 inches - Dual Compound - TR DoubleDown

The Aggressor is designed for very fast modern mountain bike trails. Advanced tread design provides additional grip edges and reinforced side knobs offer increased stability in fast corners. An all-round trail tire suitable for everything from light trails to challenging enduro courses.

Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This results in better traction and reduced rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures also decreases. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other "Tubeless Ready" tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a true UST tubeless tire. This makes tubeless mounting successful on all rims with standard dimensions on the first inflation and with little fluid. Even "normal" Maxxis MTB tires can be mounted tubeless with sealant like tires from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabrics are very dense. However, only the new Maxxis TR models are officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by Maxxis.

Doubledown tires are constructed like Maxxis downhill tires: two carcass layers reinforced with a butyl insert in the sidewall. However, with two 120 TPI (instead of 60 TPI) carcass layers and an aramid bead, they are significantly lighter than downhill tires, much more stable and robust than TR + EXO tires, and thus ideal for tough enduro courses. 

In the dual compound blend, two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. The arrangement of the compounds is planned according to the desired properties of the tires.
