Maxxis Aspen folding tire - 29 x 2.40 inches WT - Dual - EXO TR

The Aspen from Maxxis is an all-round racing tire that rolls very well, is very light, but also offers grip in almost all situations? The ASPEN is MAXXIS’s answer to this requirement profile. In the center of the tread, closely spaced, slightly angled lamellar studs alternate with small, beveled block studs. They thus redefine the ideal combination of high traction and easy rolling. The side studs run in pairs from the outside to the inside when viewed in the direction of travel. This special arrangement provides significantly more grip in corners. Despite the all-round suitable stud height of over 3mm and very good puncture protection.

Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures also decreases. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other “Tubeless Ready” tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a real UST tubeless tire. This makes tubeless mounting successful on all rims with standard dimensions on the first inflation and with little liquid. Even “normal” Maxxis MTB tires can be mounted tubeless with sealant like tires from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabrics are very dense. However, only the new Maxxis TR models are officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by Maxxis.

The EXO Protection, consisting of extremely cut and abrasion-resistant material, protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very tightly woven, lightweight, and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains consistently convincingly good. In the Dual Compound mixture, two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. The arrangement of the compounds is planned according to the desired properties of the tires.
