Description
Description
The original for touring and fitness riders – in the natural BioKork variant with the best customer feedback. Our GP series has been the worldwide reference for wing grips for more than a decade, awarded with countless test wins and accolades. Constantly improved to this day. Prevents numb fingers, aching hands, and forearms.
ORGANICALLY GROWN
40 percent cork
Ergonomics, function, feel, and sustainability: This variant of the successful GP1 model combines all of this and is therefore particularly popular. The grip consists of 40 percent cork. The material comes from organic farming in Portugal and meets strict ecological guidelines. In the inner carrier, 20 percent of the plastic is replaced by grass fibers.
ECOLOGICALLY SUSTAINABLE
Ergon-Initiative “GreenLab”
Sustainability is high on the agenda at Ergon. Under the “GreenLab” initiative, packaging made from recycled material is developed, and entire products like the GP1 BioKork grip are made from particularly environmentally friendly materials. All parts of the grip are consistently manufactured in an ecologically sustainable manner.
NUMBER SAFE
Always clamps – and that's a good thing
The clamping system of the GP series is extremely secure and easy to install. Each grip is fixed with just one screw and is reliably protected against twisting. Also important: Ergon-aluminum clamps are forged and not pressed. Additional grip positions are enabled by the GP models with our super-light, flexible bar ends made of glass-fiber composite with grippy rubber inlays.
HAND PLEASER
The mix makes it
Minimal friction – maximum comfort: The super-soft, UV-stable long-life rubber compound developed by Ergon provides reliable grip while cycling with its texture fields, feels comfortable in the hand, and noticeably increases riding pleasure.
TWIST GRIP SPECIAL
Fits every type of gear
Some models of our GP series are available in special versions for different gear systems. For a regular gear system, both grips are the same length. The version for Gripshift® or Dual-Twist-Shift twist grip systems includes two shortened grips, for Rohloff®, Nexus®, and Single-Twist-Shift only the grip on the right side is shortened.
Nerve-friendly
When cycling, the hands support a large part of the upper body weight on the handlebars. This creates high pressure on the small grip surface. The very sensitive ulnar nerve, which runs close to the skin surface in the area of the little finger ball, is often pinched. This can lead to numbness. The wing grip enlarges the contact surface of the hand, distributes the pressure over a larger area, and prevents discomfort.
No bend – no tingling
Bending the wrist compresses nerves, tendons, and blood vessels. Result: The carpal tunnel narrows and can damage the median nerve. Longer bike rides with increasing fatigue make it difficult to maintain a healthy posture. The wing construction of our GP grips supports the hand, automatically brings the wrist into an ergonomically ideal position, and prevents numbness, tingling, and pain.
Thick and thin for best control
To always keep your bicycle under control, your hand should not completely encircle the grip. Ergon offers many grips available in the sizes “Small” and “Large”. The difference relates to the grip span. This means: A larger hand has a better form fit on a thicker grip, while for a smaller hand, a thinner grip fits best. For hand (glove) sizes 6.5–8.5, we recommend size Small, and for 8.5–10.5, size Large.
