Many years of World Cup experience plus feedback from the world's best riders: This is the formula from which Ergon developed the uncompromising saddle for modern downhill racing. The requirements of world-class riders for the perfect saddle: Super compact with maximum tire clearance, ideally placed anti-slip elements and glide zones, all-around 360-degree padding for optimal protection and best leg guidance. The Ergon SM Downhill Comp has exactly all that – and more: The design naturally follows the slanted, DH-typical saddle orientation. And for the uphill with the tow lift, we have comfortably padded the seating area.

MINIMALLY COMPACT

• Full control and freedom of movement
• In tough terrain and during jumps, full freedom of movement is essential. We have therefore designed the SM Downhill Comp to be minimally compact (23.6 x 12 cm) and have taken control, speed, and safety to a new level.

360° PADDING

• Edge padding supports bike control
• The 360-degree surrounding edge padding of the SM Downhill Comp supports the best possible leg guidance for bike control and provides maximum protection. Unpleasant bruises on the inner sides of the legs are reduced by the padding.

SEATING COMFORT PLUS GRIP

• Anti-slip surface with two non-slip zones
• The well-padded anti-slip seating area has two non-slip surface zones. This way, you enjoy the necessary comfort and grip during short seating passages and in the lift.

MAXIMUM TIRE CLEARANCE

• Ideal also for small 29er frames
• The rear of the SM Downhill Comp is designed to be particularly short and flat to give the tire enough space when the rear suspension is fully compressed. Even with small 29er frames and low saddle positions, there is no contact with the tire thanks to the cutout.

NICELY SLOPED

• Strong in the air
• The entire surface design is consistently adapted to the slanted orientation of a downhill saddle. Always downhill is the motto here – for steering in steep, technical terrain and in the air.

ALWAYS FITS

• One size for all downhill adventures
• One size fits all: The SM Downhill Comp is unlike any other Ergon saddles. Since it is not made for sitting, but for perfect bike control on the race track and in the air, different widths or gender-specific cutouts are not required.

COOL CAMOUFLAGE LOOK

• Logo-Dazzle-Look and Oil-Slick Rails
• Visually, the SM Downhill Comp is also a real highlight. From the camouflage of the early test phase in the World Cup, we adopted the Logo-Dazzle-Look for the series model in the team edition. Another eye-catcher is the CrMo rails in a stylish oil-slick finish (perfect match to the oil-slick clamps of our Gravity grips GD1 Evo and GFR1). For those who prefer something more subtle: We also offer the saddle in plain black with white branding.
