HALO™ HOT WAX was developed to drastically improve drivetrain performance by

• Significantly reducing the attraction of abrasive contaminants

Three high-quality components ensure excellent results: 

• Highly refined paraffin provides a robust coating that feels dry, is water-repellent, repels abrasive contaminants, and almost completely eliminates chain stains.
• Spherical tungsten has a patented hollow core that reduces vibrational friction caused by high-torque pedaling. The micron size and spherical shape help reduce sliding friction by creating a rolling effect on the chain surface.
• Ceramic boron nitride plates cover the chain and form a protective non-stick coating. This ceramic coating works in synergy with the spherical tungsten to reduce wear and extend the life of expensive drivetrain components.

HALO™ HOT WAX bags are specially developed for boiling in water. They are reusable and contain enough HALO™ HOT WAX for approximately 25 chain dipping sessions.

• Locate the chain lock to quickly and easily remove the chain. (Chain lock pliers required). Fully clean and dry the chain before first use.
• To melt the wax pellets, place the HALO™ bag in a pot of water and bring the water to a gentle boil. Alternatively, you can also place the pellets in a slow cooker to melt the wax.
• Attach the chain to the dipping tool included in the bag. Scan the QR code for the best technique.
• Once the wax pellets are fully melted, remove the bag and place it on a covered work surface.
• Dip the chain into the melted wax using the dipping tool.
• Leave the chain in the wax for at least 3 minutes to allow the wax to fully penetrate the chain bushings.
• Remove the chain from the hot wax and hang it until it is completely dry (approximately 30 minutes). Note: Some wax will drip off the chain.
• Allow the chain to dry before reattaching it to the bicycle. Note: It is normal for excess wax to flake off.

Important:

• Keep the maximum temperature below 104 °C (220 °F).
• Do not melt wax in the oven or microwave.
• Avoid contact with open flames. Wear protective gloves and goggles.
• If old wax needs to be removed from the chain, use boiling water.
