AEROWEAVE

The quest for weight reduction and improved ventilation while maintaining support and protection led our designers and engineers to develop an entirely new material: Aeroweave. Now in its second generation, Aeroweave weaves fabric material nylon fibers with filaments of thermoplastic polymers into an even lighter shoe that does not lose its original toughness and provides the necessary strength and support in competition.

POWERSTRAP

While most traditional Velcro straps simply pull both sides of the shoe upper together, in the Vento Powerstrap configuration, a bandage wraps around the foot and provides secure support with just two straps. The instep and midfoot are separately adjustable for a customized fit and compression – and these straps have now been optimized to make them even lighter and stronger.

R3 OUTSOLE

The Vento Powerstrap Aeroweave also features a completely new outsole, the R3, developed with an updated carbon fiber layer and a new design to save weight without compromising stiffness. With an index of 10, the R3 is a stiff outsole that allows for optimal power transfer. Two wide air intakes and deep internal channels allow for cooling air circulation and contribute to temperature regulation. In line with the latest bike fitting trends, the R3 outsole offers a recessed cleat positioning, the same as all the latest fizik models, to optimize pedal efficiency and reduce knee compression, particularly well-suited for very aggressive, forward-leaning aero positions.
