Maxxis Ardent folding tire - 27.5x2.40 inches - Dual Compound - TR Exo

An aggressive tread on a large-volume carcass, designed for good traction but fast enough for racers. Large block-shaped shoulder lugs bite into fast corners with many edges. The tread center has beveled lugs to minimize rolling resistance. With its wide range of models, the Ardent meets all the demands of a fast tire from touring to all-mountain and enduro to freeriding.

Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This provides better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures also decreases. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other “Tubeless Ready” tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a true UST tubeless tire. This makes tubeless mounting successful on all rims with standard dimensions on the first inflation and with little fluid. Even “normal” Maxxis MTB tires can be mounted tubeless with sealant like tires from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabrics are very dense. However, only the new Maxxis TR models are officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by Maxxis.

The Exo Protection, consisting of extremely cut and abrasion-resistant material, protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very tightly woven, lightweight, and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains consistently convincing. In the dual compound mixture, two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. The arrangement of the compounds is planned according to the desired properties of the tires.
