Maxxis Overdrive Excel Wire Tire - 28x1.85 - Dual Compound - SilkShield

The Overdrive Excel clincher tire from Maxxis definitely has everything you would expect from a modern city and trekking tire - and additionally surprises with innovative extras. The high-quality Maxxis carcass with 60 threads per inch or 23 threads per cm is not only protected under the tread as usual, but also all around on the sidewalls with Maxxis innovative SilkShield. The high-quality, very durable Maxxis rubber compound in the center of the tread, which also impresses with low rolling resistance, is complemented on the sides by a grippy compound that offers the best cornering grip even in wet conditions. Reflective stripes on the sidewalls increase safety. With its high stability at low weight, the Overdrive Excel is also very well suited for pedelecs/e-bikes with support up to 25 km/h. 

In the Dual Compound mixture, two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. The arrangement of the compounds is planned according to the desired properties of the tires.

SilkShield offers Silkworm protection all around, from rim edge to rim edge, thus preventing cuts and other defects on the tire sidewalls and under the tread.
