150 mm travel

Carbon OMR

The OMR frames (Orbea Monocoque Race) are the only ones that combine high-modulus fibres with high-strength fibres. The prepreg sheets made from pre-impregnated carbon are laser-cut to minimise excess before an extensive pre-forming process achieves optimal compaction with the least amount of material. Thanks to the fully expanded polystyrene (EPS) core, folds and voids are avoided.

Asymmetrical - Strength

The right-side support solidifies and stiffens an area that is subjected to high stress. Instead of using a less effective "shock tunnel", the structure of the Occam directs the impact to the left side of the frame, so the asymmetrical support takes a more direct path. This straight line, which follows the shock absorber layout, represents the most effective way to neutralise the suspension forces in the front triangle.

Asymmetrical - Ergonomics and balance

The asymmetrical offset design brings unique advantages that go beyond stiffness and weight savings. The shock is mounted in such a way that its settings are remarkably easy to reach, and the compact dimensions leave enough space for an easily accessible water bottle.
