The RS concept gives you a great day on the trails. Because low weight, lower energy consumption and support matched to the rider’s power output increase the battery’s endurance to more than one and a half times.

Sleek and expandable

Conventional e-bikes have displays, sensors, additional cables and large switches and buttons as unavoidable standard. But for us, the look of a classic, clean bike was a central part of the RS philosophy.

The lightest in its class

RS motor, battery and electronics are more than half lighter than other E-Bike systems. RS describes a new philosophy in which Orbea power, range, the control elements and the weight are understood as an integrated system. With its sleek, reduced and integrated appearance without bulky parts, it makes you forget the time and experience the trail and the ride even more intensely.

The unique Shimano EP8 RS

For quite some time, Orbea had been looking for the best solution. When Shimano then published the plans for its new EP8 motor, they knew right away: this exceptional motor provides the perfect platform to implement the RS Power concept. Working closely together, Orbea handled the development of its own electronics and batteries, while Shimano adapted its EP8 motor so that it runs perfectly with its own RS firmware.

Instant response

All the motor’s power only makes sense when it’s used in a targeted way. The EP8 RS system delivers its power very smoothly and with first-class response.

The aesthetics of simplicity

Many riders spend hours and hours making their bike a little lighter, eliminating annoying noises or correcting visual imperfections. The benefits of bike computers and smartphones are undeniable, yet many riders don’t want to mount an oversized display on the handlebar or the top tube.

OMR frame

OMR frames combine highly modular and highly strong carbon fibres with a standard layup to optimise the stiffness-to-weight ratio. Using the so-called bladder-moulding process with EPS moulds and polyurethane inserts (PU) at the head tube and bottom bracket prevents folds and unevenness in critical areas of the frame. At the same time, carbon can be saved without affecting the frame’s strength.
