Park Tool CC-4.2 Chain Wear Gauge

A worn bicycle chain leads to poor shifting performance and can even cause wear on components in the drivetrain, which can lead to costly problems. The CC-4.2 Chain Checker from Park Tool is a drop-in measuring device that measures the wear of the bicycle chain. The laser-cut CC-4.2 measures a long section of the chain and touches the chain at three points, allowing for quick and easy determination of when the chain needs to be replaced. The device works with all 5- to 13-speed chains (including SRAM® T-Type, SRAM® Flattop™, Shimano® XTR® 12-speed and Campagnolo® Ekar™ 13-speed) as well as with single-speed chains and accurately indicates when a chain has reached wear of 0.5%, 0.75%, and 1.0% - the points at which most chain manufacturers recommend replacement.
