The Total System Efficiency (TSE) design approach from Zipp gives the 808 Firecrest new features, such as a significant weight reduction of more than 280 grams compared to the previous model. Additionally, the wheelset was developed with a hookless and tubeless rim profile and an internal width of 23 mm. This is ideal for running wider tires at lower pressure, thus improving rolling resistance and cornering grip. In fact, TSE combats the four main obstacles to speed: air resistance, gravity, rolling resistance, and vibration losses. The legendary Firecrest rim shape from Zipp ensures high aero efficiency and crosswind stability. The ABLC technology from Zipp uses a complex dimple pattern to improve aero efficiency. And although this wheelset is optimized for tubeless tires, you still have the option to run tubeless-compatible tires with tubes.
