The Zipp 454 NSW Tubeless for disc brakes is the ultimate wheelset for road racing. This wheel delivers everything the performance-oriented cyclist demands. It is aerodynamically efficient and stable in all wind conditions. Additionally, a wider rim was developed for tubeless tires with lower pressure to reduce rolling resistance and vibration losses, so you lose as little energy as possible on the go. This wheel is optimized for 30 mm tubeless tires for maximum speed. The 454 NSW features the most advanced technologies from Zipp. The wavy 58mm Sawtooth rim shape with Hyperfoils is our most aerodynamic and stable wheel. The 454 NSW features Zipps Total System Efficiency (TSE), our approach to combating the biggest speed opponents: wind resistance, gravity, rolling resistance, and vibration losses. The 454 NSW Tubeless for disc brakes are approximately one pound (more than 400 grams) lighter than their predecessors! The use of hookless (straight) rims in the 454 NSW is an essential part of "Making You Faster." With Hookless, the transition between tire and rim is more seamless and aerodynamic. The hookless rims from Zipp have a more efficient resin distribution, which means lighter and stronger wheels. An outdoor test commissioned by Zipp has shown the benefits of the Zipp TSE in practice. An 85 kg total system of rider and bike requires 278 watts with the new 454 NSW with 30 mm tires to maintain a speed of 40 km/h. That is a saving of 10 watts compared to the previous model 454 NSW. At the heart of the 454 NSW is the Cognition V2 hubset, which has been revised with an updated Axial Clutch V2 mechanism for faster engagement, lower friction, and improved durability.
