ABUS takes advantage of this idea and uses it as a sheath for chain locks. This increases the protection against abrasion on the one hand, and on the other hand, the sheath protects the bicycle from damage caused by the chain. In addition to durability, other features speak for the IvyTex technology: The high-tech fabric is durable and highly flexible. It is weather-resistant and insensitive to liquids. For example, water is not absorbed by the fabric, and the locks are protected against corrosion. Therefore, there is no reason not to secure the bike in unfavorable weather conditions for fear of dirt.
