Description
Light - lighter - GXR.
Reduced to the essentials, the Ergon GXR does exactly what cross-country riders and lightweight racers want: It dampens all shocks, is grippy, weighs little, fits ergonomically in the hand, and provides safety. The GXR is the first truly ergonomic lightweight grip made from AirCell-Rubber, manufactured in a unique process. Super light, without clamping, without inner core, 100% made in Germany – with the GXR, Ergon defines a new chapter in MTB grips.
100% MADE IN GERMANY
Completely new manufacturing process
The Ergon GXR comes entirely from Germany. From development through material to production – the entire manufacturing process is 100% made in Germany. Especially for the new cross-country grip, we have created a unique manufacturing process in Germany with expanded, TÜV-certified Ergon rubber granulate.
ERGONOMIC THANKS TO AIRCELL-RUBBER
Micro air bubbles make the difference
The GXR combines lightweight construction and true ergonomics for the first time in an MTB grip. In a completely new production process, Ergon AirCell-Rubber is molded into a grip that is ergonomically adapted to the hand and specifically to the mountain bike application area. The high-quality and unique AirCell-Rubber features very high damping directly through the material thanks to countless micro air bubbles, is super light, soft, and TÜV-tested for harmful substances. In contrast to the GXR, conventionally foamed lightweight grips are pressed in a strand. This process significantly limits the design. An ergonomic shape is not possible this way, nor are tailored surface zones for the functional areas of the hand. This shortcoming leads to earlier fatigue and poorer bike handling. With the ergonomic GXR, however, you have your lightweight bike under control at all times.
FIRST CHOICE FOR LIGHTWEIGHT BIKES
No clamping, no inner core
Without an inner core and clamping, we have managed to reduce the weight to 90 grams (size small, including end caps). Those who want to trim their cross-country bike to a lightweight rocket and still not want to miss out on grip, control, and ergonomics cannot get past the Ergon grip.
Two sizes for perfect ergonomics
Courses and tracks in performance MTB use are becoming more demanding. There is also a trend towards down-country – to lightweight full-suspension bikes that are ridden ambitiously. However, bikes with a focus on lightweight construction often do not offer the optimum in ergonomics and control. Here, the Ergon GXR becomes a game changer at the mountain bike cockpit: It is ergonomically refined, available in two sizes, reduces discomfort, and provides the necessary grip to control the bike in any situation.
Special surfaces for each zone of the hand
Besides the ergonomic design, surface textures for the highest demands in difficult terrain are part of an outstanding gripping feel on the MTB handlebar. The surfaces of the GXR are adapted to the different functional areas of the hand. Thus, the GXR still fits perfectly in the hand even when things get tough in cross-country.
Extra grip at the fingertips
For extremely technical track features, 100 percent grip on the handlebar is crucially important. Therefore, the GXR has a particularly grippy, reinforced zone in the lower area exactly where the fingertips need to grip firmly.
