Maxxis Rekon+ Folding Tire - 27.5x2.80 Inch - Dual Compound - TR Exo

The Maxxis Rekon is a very voluminous tire that you can use for daily tours, eagerly shred in the Wald and AllMountain, but also handles excursions into rougher terrain. Ideal for the rear wheel! The TR version with EXO sidewall protection is designed for tubeless riding with sealant but can also be ridden with a tube like all TR tires. 

Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with lower air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures also decreases. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other "Tubeless Ready" tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a true UST tubeless tire. This makes tubeless mounting successful on all rims with standard dimensions on the first inflation and with little liquid. Even "normal" Maxxis MTB tires can be mounted tubeless with sealant like tires from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabrics are very dense. However, only the new Maxxis TR models are officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by Maxxis.

The Exo Protection, consisting of extremely cut and abrasion-resistant material, protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very tightly woven, lightweight, and very flexible. This keeps the performance of the tires consistently convincingly good. In the Dual Compound mixture, two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. The arrangement of the compounds is planned according to the desired properties of the tires.
