Maxxis Shorty II WT Folding Tire - 29 x 2.4 inches - 3C MaxxGrip - Double Down

The Shorty tire has been completely redesigned, in collaboration with the best DH and EWS riders. The wide center tread has been split and is now arranged in double rows, which is intended to further improve grip on roots and stones. The side knobs have also been improved with reinforced support to prevent lateral buckling.

3C Maxx Grip (DH): Superior racing performance through three different rubber compounds in different positions on the tread. The base layer ensures low rolling resistance and stability of the tread blocks. The compound in the center of the tread provides the best grip on any surface, while the extremely damped compound on the shoulder knobs ensures the best possible cornering grip.

Double Down tires are constructed like Maxxis downhill tires: two carcass layers reinforced with a butyl insert in the sidewall. However, with two 120 TPI (instead of 60 TPI) carcass layers and aramid bead, they are significantly lighter than downhill tires, much more stable and robust than TR + EXO tires, and thus ideal for tough enduro courses.
