DH World Cup courses today are steep technical monsters with constantly changing conditions. The pros from Maxxis needed a mid-spike tire that handles dry, loose, and rutted corners just as well as a bit of mud. The Shorty is such a tire. A large-volume dual-ply casing makes it more versatile than our mud tire WetScream. Large, tall, and slightly staggered side knobs penetrate loose ground and ensure predictable cornering at light speed. In the center, two types of knobs alternate: rectangular knobs and square knobs, with strong bite when braking and excellent self-cleaning.

Maxxis WT tires are optimized for rims with an internal width of 30 mm or more.

Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with lower air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures also decreases. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other "Tubeless Ready" tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a true UST tubeless tire. This makes tubeless mounting on all standard rims successful on the first inflation and with little liquid. Even "normal" Maxxis MTB tires can be mounted tubeless with sealant like tires from other manufacturers, as the casing fabrics are very dense. However, only the new Maxxis TR models are officially approved for tubeless mounting and guaranteed by Maxxis.
