BRAKE LEVER WITH HIGH PIVOT POINT
To achieve greater leverage and reduce reach, we have moved the pivot point of the brake lever to a higher position on the shifter body. We also redesigned the design to pull a bit more cable than a standard road brake lever, so you have a bit more braking power when needed.

LOWER GEARS THAN COMPACT DOUBLE
Climbing is hard work, there's no way around it. But you can make it easier with your choice of gearing. At this point in drivetrain history, compact doubles are a bit old-fashioned. Modern gravel groups rely on lower gears to maintain cadence even on steep climbs, and Sword firmly belongs to this new school. The low gear of the Sword 2x is 24% lower than that of a compact road double. The Sword 1x with a 40t chainring is 17% lower. Whether you're bikepacking or riding a Tour de France stage, this extra gear range will help you reach your destination safely.

ADJUSTING CABLE TENSION WITH AN ALLEN KEY
The derailleur's cable housing stop is adjustable, meaning after installing the derailleur cable, you can tighten or loosen the cable tension with a 3mm hex screw on top of the derailleur.

ORBITAL BARREL ADJUSTER FOR SMOOTH CABLE ROUTING
Many road and gravel bikes have internal cable routing, which can make routing the derailleur housing difficult. We have developed an industry first: an orbital barrel adjuster that allows for a 15-degree rotation in any direction. This allows the derailleur housing to find the path of least resistance and reduce cable friction.

QUICK AND EASY REACH ADJUSTMENT
The shift and brake levers of Sword are completely separate from each other, allowing them to be adjusted independently to customize reach. Simply flip back the hood and start dialing.

QUIET CLUTCH WITH INSTANT ENGAGEMENT
We have redesigned our ratchet and pawl clutch from the ground up with two goals: instant engagement and quiet operation. The new Sword derailleur offers both. When it's time to remove the rear wheel, you just need to turn the integrated switch at the derailleur cage pivot to deactivate the clutch. Sure, it won't make you ride faster, but it's easy to use and disappears when you don't need it.
