Take it too far

Performance advantages can be found everywhere, small improvements for big bikes, and yes, a little obsession is part of it. But how far is too far? Orbea's goals, their competitors, and their creative attitude keep driving them to victory. And once you know how sweet success tastes, you always want more. You become obsessed with being the best. You feel it in your heart, in your lungs, in your legs - and you recognize it in our bikes. Only by continuously perfecting the smallest details and pushing the boundaries of what seems possible can they achieve their big goals.

Dynamic Structure

The majority of torsional forces and lateral loads are absorbed by the lower part of the frame. The head tube, down tube, and chainstays resist the loads and efficiently transfer power to the rear wheel. The stiffer the frame is here, the more power is transferred directly from the legs to the ground, and the more immediate the power transmission is.

OMX - 830gr (M)

Orbea Monocoque X (OMX) frames rely on an exclusive combination of high-modulus and high-strength carbon fibers. Prepreg carbon sheets are laser-cut to minimize material usage and overlapping areas. Additionally, the frame is intricately preformed to achieve optimal compaction with as little carbon as possible. The use of a fully expanded polystyrene (EPS) mold and latex inserts prevents wrinkles and voids.

Comfort

The new Alma, for example, features thinner seat stays. Thanks to the reduced cross-section and diameter, they provide a graceful support for the seat tube. The top tube, on the other hand, is particularly robust at the front of the head tube to increase torsional stiffness. However, it quickly tapers towards the rear to save material and thus weight.

The damping properties achieved through the carbon layup, as well as the slim design of the top tube and seat stays, give the Alma a dynamic yet smooth riding behavior, allowing the bike to glide over rough terrain. The effect is subtle but noticeable. At the end of a tough race, such a detail can make the difference between a podium finish and a consolation prize.

Orbea World Cup Geometry

Years of developing top-class cross-country bikes have led to the World Cup geometry of the Alma. The seating position is aggressive, fast, yet comfortable. Compared to trail geometry, which sacrifices a bit of precision for endurance, cross-country geometry is designed for precise handling and maximum power transfer.

OC Cockpit

With the unique design of the OC head tube, spacers, and stem, they have given Orbea's cross-country family a completely new, integrated Look. This also includes the optional holder for the bike computer, which is compatible with all common brands via an adapter. The interplay of the OC components completes the high-end claim of their modern cross-country bikes.

Blocklock

The Acros Blocklock 164º headset limits the steering angle and thus prevents damage to the frame. In close collaboration with Acros, they were able to minimize the build height and integrate the system optimally into the cockpit of their Carbon-Almas.
