Description
Are you this mountain biker?
Do your buddies mentally prepare for hot bike adventures when you invite them on a "quiet tour"? Do your favorite routes always lead over paths that can't be found on any map? Do your tours start with the first rays of sunlight and end with a shared beer after sunset? Does your bike have to endure everything and always be a loyal companion to you? Are you exactly the type of mountain biker we're talking about here? Then the Orbea Occam is the perfect bike for you!
150 mm travel
Modern trail bikes are used for impressively versatile rides. Some riders climb ascents that are thousands of meters long, while others lap after lap in bike parks with infinitely many jumps.
Trail Geometry
Slacker head angle - More stability
Lower bottom bracket - More natural cornering
Longer cockpit - More freedom of movement with more balance
Longer wheelbase - Stability at high speeds
Steeper seat angle - More appropriate pedaling position
Short seat tube - For long dropper posts
Carbon OMR
The OMR frames (Orbea Monocoque Race) are the only ones that combine high-modulus fibers with high-strength fibers. The prepreg sheets of pre-impregnated carbon are laser cut to minimize excess before achieving optimal compaction with the least amount of material through a lengthy preforming process. Thanks to the fully expanded polystyrene (EPS) mold, wrinkles and voids are avoided.
Asymmetric - Strength
The right-side support solidifies and stiffens an area that is subjected to high stress. Instead of using a less effective "shock tunnel," the Occam's structure directs the shock to the left side of the frame, allowing the asymmetric support to take a more direct path. This straight line following the shock absorber setup is the most effective way to neutralize suspension forces in the front triangle.
Asymmetric - Ergonomics and Balance
The asymmetric offset design brings unique advantages that go beyond stiffness and weight savings. The shock absorber is mounted so that its adjustments are amazingly easy to reach, and the small dimensions leave enough space for an easily accessible water bottle
