The VENTO POWERSTRAP R2 AEROWEAVE is a purebred racing shoe: The lightest and most breathable model in the fizik performance series, developed with an innovative high-strength mesh-like structure that is combined with our stiffest carbon sole.

Aeroweave

The desire to reduce weight and increase ventilation while maintaining support and protection led our designers and engineers to develop a new material for the upper. It is called Aeroweave and is an advanced fabric that interweaves lightweight nylon fibers with filaments of thermoplastic polymer.

This blend of threads creates a material with an open, mesh-like pattern that is extremely airy yet very resilient and durable. The upper of the Vento Powerstrap R2 Aeroweave is so intensely ventilated that the rider's socks are visible through it. Aeroweave is a moldable material that moves to effectively cradle the foot, but its strength provides the support and stability required for a high-performance racing shoe.

Powerstrap

While most traditional Velcro closures simply pull the two sides of the shoe upper together, the configuration of the Vento Powerstrap wraps a band around the foot, allowing for ultimate comfort and support with just two straps. The instep and midfoot are separately adjustable for a customized fit and compression. These bands have been optimized to make them even lighter and stronger.

R2 OUTSOLE

The Vento Powerstrap R2 Aeroweave also features a completely new outsole: The specially developed carbon fiber outsole of the R2 saves weight and ensures increased stiffness. With an index of 10, the R2 is the stiffest outsole in the fizik range. A wide ventilation inlet and deep internal air channeling provide a cooling airflow and contribute to temperature management. The cleats are positioned slightly further towards the heel compared to traditional placement to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce knee strain, which is especially suitable for aggressive forward aero riding positions.
