The VENTO POWERSTRAP R2 AEROWEAVE is a thoroughbred racing shoe: the lightest and most breathable model in the performance range from fizik, developed with an innovative high-strength mesh-like structure, connected to our stiffest carbon sole.

Aeroweave

The aim to reduce weight and increase ventilation while maintaining support and protection led our designers and engineers to develop a new material for the upper. It is called Aeroweave and is an advanced fabric that interweaves lightweight nylon fibers with filaments of thermoplastic polymer.

This blend of threads creates a material with an open, mesh-like pattern that is extremely airy yet very resilient and robust. The upper of the Vento Powerstrap R2 Aeroweave is so intensely ventilated that the riders' socks are visible through it. Aeroweave is a moldable material that moves to effectively cradle the foot, but its strength provides the support and hold required for a high-performance racing shoe.

Powerstrap

While most classic Velcro straps simply pull together two sides of the shoe upper, in the Vento Powerstrap configuration, a band wraps around the foot, allowing for ultimate comfort and hold with just two bands. Instep and midfoot are separately adjustable for a customized fit and compression. These bands have been optimized to make them even lighter and stronger.

R2 OUTSOLE

The Vento Powerstrap R2 Aeroweave also features a completely new outsole: The specially developed R2 carbon fiber outsole saves weight and provides increased stiffness. With an index of 10, the R2 is the stiffest outsole in the fizik range. A wide ventilation inlet and deep internal air channeling ensure a cooling airflow and contribute to temperature management. The cleats are positioned slightly further towards the heel compared to traditional placement to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce knee strain, which is particularly suitable for aggressive forward aero riding positions.
