Description

Instead of dictating to gravel bikers what they should use for their tours, Shimano considered what cyclists need for their adventures off paved roads. The result is the Shimano GRX components, which together form the first group specifically developed for use on rough tracks and gravel. The Shimano GRX stands out from the rest of the component world with its gravel-specific ergonomics, optimized gear options, proven robustness, and a quiet and stable drivetrain.

Shimano GRX Di2 RD-RX815-GS / RD-RX817-GS Shadow RD+ Derailleur

The two electronic Shimano GRX Di2 derailleurs, RD-RX815 and RD-RX817, are characterized by quiet, smooth, precise, and reliable shifting even in the most demanding terrain. This is mainly due to the Shadow RD+ chain stabilization system, which prevents chain slapping and unnecessary movements of the derailleur cage, ensuring uninterrupted shifting performance. Similar to Shimano's mountain bike derailleurs, there is an on/off switch next to the upper pulley. When activated, the derailleur hanger takes a firm hold to reduce excessive movements, noise, and general chain noise.

The RD-RX815 derailleur can accommodate cassettes with 11-30 teeth up to cassettes with 11-34 teeth. The RD-RX817 derailleur, on the other hand, is suitable for cassettes with 11-40 or 11-42 teeth. In the RD-RX815 model, guide and tension pulleys with 13 teeth, and in the RD-RX817 model, jockey wheels with 11 teeth, ensure reduced noise and thus increased riding comfort.
