The X-Sync 2™ Eagle™ chainring is radically new. The engineers at Sram have studied the performance and wear of thousands of X-Sync™ chainrings for this purpose. Chainrings of every size were subjected to every conceivable load, both in the test lab and in the field. The goal was a chainring that enhances the performance of the Eagle™ group under all conditions. The result: The chainring teeth are longer and shaped like a saw blade to perfectly engage with the Eagle™ chain. The new chainring thus increases chain tension and pedaling efficiency. At the same time, friction, chain noise, and wear are reduced.
