As modern 29ers combine aggressive, flat geometries with equally aggressive pedal platforms, there is no reason why a climbing bike can't also be a party bike. The Syerra is proof of this, with a fast-rolling, grippy center strip and a tread that is spaced, shaped, and ribbed to provide grip on climbs, rocks, and roots or under braking and cornering loads.

The generous lug arrangement also clears mud and dirt, and the overall circumference of the Syerra ensures that it floats on root networks and rock gardens where we wouldn't have dared to dream of riding 29ers a decade ago. Despite this additional cushioning and traction, the relatively lightweight construction ensures that the tire still quickly picks up speed.
