Description
Oval chainrings work so well because a rider does not generate power evenly during a pedal stroke. Their shape optimizes the transfer of power from the pedals to the rear wheel. Oval chainrings add evenness to the pedal stroke and make climbs easier. Hard to believe - a round chainring does not transfer torque to the rear wheel as evenly as an oval one does! The rider will find pedaling with an oval chainring much "rounder" than with an actual round one.
