Description
The Marathon Greenguard is one of the all-rounders from Schwalbe and has different areas of application: City, Trekking, Urban or straight road. The insert of highly elastic natural rubber is 3 mm thick. For this, so many other manufacturers already awards a ''plus''. Green are also the inner values. One third of the GreenGuard is made from recycled latex products. ''Anti-aging''. A completely redesigned sidewall endures the typical overloads caused by insufficient air pressure for much longer before developing ugly cracks. Also the new Endurance Compound increases the durability again significantly. You can use all Marathon models on your e-bike (E-25). The most important sizes are tested and approved for e-bikes up to 50 km/h (E-50).

"Guter Pannenschutz, aber sauschwere Montage"
Man merkt aber, im Vergleich zu einem 28er Kojak, deutlich den besseren Grip. Während das Hinterrad manchmal wegtanzt (insbesondere auf nassem Kopfsteinpflaster), war ich sehr zufrieden mit dem 35 erm Vorderrad. Das gilt für 16" (349) Laufräder.
Soweit zum Positiven.
Bei der Montage gibt es viele Punkte Abzug, weil die einfach so unglaublich schwierig ist. Schwalbe Marathon's sind ja generell eher schwierig zu montieren, aber an einem 16" Laufrad ist es besonders knifflig. Mir ist auch beim ersten Versuch die Karkasse (Seitenwand) und die Umhüllung des Drahts zerscheuert, sodass nach einiger Fahrt und Nässe der Rost den Kauf eines nächsten Reifens nötig machte. Man sollte auch nur sehr robuste Reifenheber verwenden, also nicht solche aus (leicht zähem) Nylon - sondern welche aus hartem ABS oder PS. Spüli oder eine extra Montageflüssigkeit sind auch eine Möglichkeit. Schade aber, dass sie nötig sind!
