Hope has a technical solution. Two cone-shaped plugs are pulled together so that the diameter of the unit becomes larger and the plug remains firmly in the fork. This creates a solid thread for attaching the stem. Sounds simple? It is! Hope tops it off with a laser-etched cover cap and an aluminum screw.
