Description
If there's one bike to match your favorite mixtape, it's the Hightower. With our lower link shock linkage and updated adjustable geometry, this ''Engineering Best Of....'' combines some of our finest tunes to create the perfect trail partner.
The Hightower has been our most versatile trail bike since its introduction. It's more agile than its big-suspension brother Megatower, but more confident on technical terrain than its nimble cousin Tallboy. The Hightower scores where the trails are long and challenging and steep climbs are rewarded with real descents. The lower baffle-controlled VPP shock produces a near-linear spring curve, absorbing shocks of all sizes while still maintaining the progressivity that originally distinguished our V10 DH bike!
With 140mm of travel in the rear and 150mm in the front, the Hightower now gets slightly more travel than the first generation. Combined with a 65° steer angle, the bike still has a very wide comfort zone, but offers a little more reserve when your temper gets the better of you!
The Hightower is the perfect balance of suspension travel at the rear and front.
The perfect balance between stiffness and weight savings is a trademark of all Santa Cruz carbon frames. And the Hightower raises the bar a little higher. The advanced carbon chassis dances gracefully over all trail conditions, holding the line where it's called for and responding sensitively to rider directional changes while converting every kick into propulsion in isolation.
The Hightower also has that certain something that intensifies the experience even more. We call it the flip chip. In the High setting, the bottom bracket height is slightly higher for technical pedaling and/or when plus tires are desired. In the low position, the curve is a little more progressive to provide extra bottom-out resistance for a more aggressive ride. The bike adapts to your preferences.
And speaking of preferences: There's plenty of room in the main frame for your water bottle and the famously reliable bolt-on bottom bracket. Sophisticated cable routing ensures better shifting performance as well as the usual easy cable routing and avoids cable abrasion. There's also a shuttle guard and impact guard on the downtube, as well as a small mudguard over the rear shock and a chainstay guard to keep things nice and quiet.
With a lifetime frame warranty, lifetime frame bearing replacement, and lifetime warranty on the optional spare carbon wheels, your Hightower promises you lasting reliability.
