Ergon GP1-L Evo

Description

The evolution of the comfort original

Ergon has made the best wing grip of all time even better. The consistent further development of the GP1 stands for maximum hand comfort, optimum pressure distribution and the highest, pollutant-free material quality. With this Evo version of the multi-award-winning comfort original, Ergon is setting a new benchmark for ergonomic, pain-free cycling on touring and fitness bikes. For the first time, design, development and production are "Made in Germany". This enables an even more targeted and sustainable implementation of the claim to deliver the highest quality down to the smallest detail.

No pain, no numbness

Hand pain when cycling is widespread, especially on longer tours. With conventional, rather round or seemingly ergonomic grips, numbness often occurs in the fingers as well as pain and irritation in the palm and wrists. Discomfort in the forearms and upper arms as well as in the neck and shoulders can also often be attributed to unsuitable handles. Permanent misalignments can cause pain, such as carpal tunnel syndrome. With the iconic GP1, Ergon has enabled millions of cyclists to enjoy a pain-free ride for more than 20 years.

Distributes the pressure, protects the nerves

While cycling, a significant part of the body weight rests on the hands holding the handlebars. This leads to strong pressure on a small area of the grip. This often constricts the extremely sensitive ulnar nerve, which runs close to the surface of the skin in the area of the ball of the little finger, causing unpleasant feelings of numbness. The wing shape of the GP1 Evo, which is perfectly adapted to the hand, effectively distributes the strong pressure over a larger area and thus prevents discomfort.

Straight wrist prevents discomfort

When the wrist bends while cycling, nerves, tendons and blood vessels are compressed. This can lead to a narrowing of the carpal tunnel and potential damage to the median nerve. The ergonomic wing design of the GP1 Evo supports the wrist in a gentle, straight position. This can effectively prevent problems such as painful wrists, numbness in the fingers, tingling and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Two sizes for optimum pressure distribution

In order to effectively distribute the pressure on the handlebars and prevent discomfort, it is important that the hand does not completely enclose the grip. For this reason, Ergon offers the GP1 Evo in the sizes "Small" and "Large". The main difference is the grip width. This means that a thicker grip offers a better fit for a larger hand, while a thinner grip is more advantageous for a smaller hand - also for safety, as the optimum form fit also ensures the best control over the bike.
