Many years of World Cup experience plus feedback from the world's best riders: this is the formula from which Ergon has developed the uncompromising saddle for modern downhill racing. The requirements of world-class riders*innen to the perfect saddle: super compact with maximum tire clearance, ideally placed anti-slip elements and sliding zones, all-round 360-degree padding for optimum protection and best leg guidance. The Ergon SM Downhill Comp has exactly all this - and more: the design naturally follows the sloping, DH-typical saddle orientation. And for the uphill with the drag lift, we have comfortably padded the seat.
MINIMALISTICALLY COMPACT
- Full control and freedom of movement
- In tough terrain and jumps, full freedom of movement is key. We have therefore designed the SM Downhill Comp minimalist compact (23.6 x 12 cm) and thereby raised control, speed and safety to a new level.
360 ° PADDING
- Edge padding supports bike control
- The 360 degree circumferential edge padding of the SM Downhill Comp supports the best possible leg guidance to control the bike and gives maximum protection. Unpleasant bruises on the inside of the legs are reduced by the padding.
Seat Comfort PLUS GRIP
- Anti-slip surface with two anti-slip zones
- The well-padded anti-slip seating surface has two anti-slip surface zones. So you enjoy in short seat passages and in the lift the necessary comfort and grip.
Highest tire freedom
- Ideal also for small 29er frames
- The rear of the SM Downhill Comp is designed particularly short and flat to give the tire enough space when fully compressing the rear triangle. Even with small 29er frames and deep saddle positions it comes thanks to the recess not to contact with the tire.
RIGIDLY BEAUTIFULLY BEHIND

- The entire surface design is consistently adapted to the sloping orientation of a downhill saddle. Always downhill, is the motto here - to control in steep, technical terrain and in the air.

- One size fits all: the SM Downhill Comp is unlike any other Ergon saddle. Since it is not made for sitting, but for perfect control of the bike on the race track and in the air, different widths or gender-specific cutouts are not necessary.
COOL ERLKÖNIG OPTICS
- Logo Dazzle look and oil slick rails
- The SM Downhill Comp is also a real visual highlight. From the Erlkönig from the early test phase in the World Cup, we have adopted the logo-dazzle look for the production model in the Team Edition. Another eye-catcher are the CrMo rails in a stylish oil-slick finish (perfect match for the oil-slick clamps of our Gravity grips GD1 Evo and GFR1). Who prefers something more discreet: We offer the saddle also in plain black with white brandings.
