The Scorpion™ E-MTB series sets new standards in durability, puncture protection and battery saving. The Scorpion E-MTB is available in three variants. Three tread patterns: M and R for the best dirt terrain and S for loose and muddy enduro trails and steep terrain. A complete range for all eventualities. The innovative and patent-pending HyperWALL construction, which was cribbed from the Pirelli own motorcross tire is perfectly adapted to the needs of an E-MTB. The Scorpion E-MTB is characterized by its very good ride quality and reliability, especially at low tire pressure. The newly developed SmartGrip Gravity compound in combination with the material "Lignin" (which is extracted naturally from the paper industrial process), tolerates higher loads and torques and thus allows: better performance, longer life and more driving fun on your E-MTB.
SURFACE
The medium-height lugs and spacing are designed for the best possible grip and rolling performance on dry or wet terrain. With its SmartGRIP Gravity compound, the SCORPION ENDURO M is the first choice for trails where the surface can vary and a high level of grip is essential. The carcass of the SCORPION E-MTB M is equipped with a HyperWALL construction for maximum stability and makes it a true all-rounder.
COMPOUND - SMARTGRIP GRAVITY
Pirelli has developed this compound to meet the demands of modern riding styles, where higher speeds and more powerful bikes require softer cushioning and controlled feedback.
Based on the properties of lignin, a natural chemical component produced when waste paper is broken down and patented by Pirelli, offers all the benefits of its XC-oriented counterpart, the classic SmartGRIP compound, but combines them in a softer durometer package.
Lignin is not only a naturally occurring additive, but also improves the mechanical properties of the rubber, resulting in greater stability than any other compound with the same robustness.
This improvement is not at the expense of the other properties of the SmartGRIP compound compounds, namely chemical adhesion: the rider benefits from consistent performance of the tire throughout its life, even under the higher stresses encountered in downhill riding, for example. These characteristics together allowed Pirelli's engineers to develop a rubber compound that increases both rolling characteristics and grip and reliability, all at the same time. All this makes the bike lighter, faster and easier to control. In fewer words, more fun!
HYPERWALL
A redesigned, patented construction that further increases handling and reduces the risk of punctures. The key to off-road use. Especially for the most demanding applications such as Gravity and eMTB, the integrity of the bead area and the stability of the sidewalls is a cornerstone of tire performance.
