Pirelli Scorpion E-MTB S
The Scorpion™ E-MTB series sets new standards in durability, puncture protection and battery saving. The Scorpion E-MTB is available in three variants. Three tread patterns: M and R for the best dirt terrain and S for loose and muddy enduro trails and steep terrain. A complete range for all eventualities. The innovative and patent-pending HyperWALL construction, which was cribbed from the Pirelli own motorcross tire is perfectly adapted to the needs of an E-MTB. The Scorpion E MTB is characterized by its very good ride quality and reliability, especially at low tire pressure. The newly developed SmartGrip Gravity compound in combination with the material "Lignin" (which is extracted naturally from the paper industry process), tolerates higher loads and torques and thus allows: better performance, longer life and more driving fun on your E MTB.
High knobs with widely spaced tread blocks provide optimum grip in yielding and muddy terrain. Thanks to the new innovative, specially developed for E MTBs, SmartGrip Gravity Compound also in all weather conditions, whether dry or wet. The optimal solution for rides in rough terrain. All this with new standards in rubber abrasion resistance and carcass stability, thanks to the new HyperWALL construction.

SPACE
The tread of the Scorpion™ E-MTB S consists of deeper and widely spaced lugs that guarantee excellent penetration into the ground and increased chemical and mechanical grip. The depth and stiffness of the lugs promotes penetration into the ground, while the mechanical grip guarantees excellent responsiveness, feel for traction and braking, as well as excellent support during cornering. The specific spacing of the lugs from the Scorpion™ Trail S helps the tire get rid of the mud.
COMPOUND - SMARTGRIP GRAVITY
Pirelli developed this compound to meet the demands of modern riding styles, where higher speeds and more powerful bikes require softer cushioning and controlled feedback.
Based on the properties of lignin, a natural chemical component produced when waste paper is broken down and patented by Pirelli, offers all the benefits of its XC-oriented counterpart, the classic SmartGRIP compound, but combines them in a softer durometer package.
Lignin is not only a naturally occurring additive, but also improves the mechanical properties of the rubber, resulting in greater stability than any other compound with the same robustness.
This improvement is not at the expense of the other properties of the SmartGRIP compound compounds, namely chemical adhesion: the rider benefits from consistent performance of the tire throughout its life, even under the higher stresses encountered in downhill riding, for example. These characteristics together allowed Pirelli's engineers to develop a rubber compound that increases both rolling characteristics and grip and reliability, all at the same time. All this makes the bike lighter, faster and easier to control. In fewer words: more fun!
HYPERWALL
A redesigned, patented construction that further increases handling and reduces the risk of punctures. The key to off-road use. Especially for the most demanding applications such as Gravity and E-MTB, the integrity of the bead area and the stability of the sidewalls is a cornerstone of tire performance.
