The P ZERO™ Velo Tub is a race-ready, modern tubular tire, which was developed in the context of the World Tour and could already shine in the first year with considerable erfolgen.
The P ZERO™ Velo Tub is the result of several months of intensive development phase of the R & amp;E department of Pirelli, in cooperation with World Tour PRO riders and their mechanics. All components were tested, modified and optimally adapted to the environment. The P ZERO Velo consists of a 320TPI Corespun with aramid reinforced carcass and a modified latex tube. This minimized the weight, improved the rolling behavior and strengthened the puncture protection. The "Yellow Soft" rubber compound also ensures uncompromising handling and a grip that is second to none.

To fine-tune the tread pattern of P Zero™ and P Zero™ Velo 4S (the TT model is a pure slick), Pirelli used the motorsport-inspired Groove Design. The tread pattern, which has not only an aesthetic function, is based on that of the Diablo Supercorsa, one of Pirelli's best SSP tires (SuperSport class of the World SuperBike racing series). Angles, cross-sections and spacing of the tread pattern have been closely studied to optimize its performance in water dispersion, dry and wet grip, mileage, responsiveness and ride comfort and handling. The tread pattern is reminiscent of lightning bolts and forms very acute angles in the center of the tread with pronounced lateral openings on the sides for optimized water drainage and smooth rolling and even wear. In addition, the tread pattern has progressive depth for improved durability and optimal control even in extreme cornering. The tread of the P Zero™ Velo is composed of three different sections: the center consists of a smooth surface for optimum straight-line driving, joined on both sides by more heavily profiled areas for optimum cornering performance, which merge into semi-slick edges for immediate feedback at the limit when cornering. The result is optimal tire contact under all driving conditions.
ICS - IDEAL CONTOUR SHAPING
Improved handling and cornering through unique tire contour.
It was Pirelli that used ICS (Ideal Contour Shaping) technology to optimally design the contour and structure of the new P Zero™ Velo tires. The use of CAD software with consistent use of the scientific Finite Element Method (FEM) was used to optimize the design parameters for the tire contour and to simulate the performance performance. As a result, the P Zero™ Velo tires offer the optimal synthesis of grip, driving stability and response and control in the different driving situations (straights, slopes and curves).
Casing
P ZERO™ Velo Tub is based on a fine 320TPI Corespun carcass reinforced with aramid fibers, thus reinforcing puncture protection and improving the comfort and handling of the tires.
Inner tube
P ZERO™ Velo Tub features an optimized latex inner tube. With which the rolling resistance is minimized and the puncture protection is reinforced. Likewise, the dimensions and thickness of the tube have been optimized to ensure better air retention and reduce stretch to ensure the best puncture protection for the tire.
Usage

Zur Feinabstimmung der Reifenprofile von P Zero™ und P Zero™ Velo 4S (das TT Modell ist ein reiner Slick) nutzte Pirelli das vom Motorsport inspirierte Groove Design. Das Profilmuster, welches nicht nur eine ästhetische Funktion hat, ist angelehnt an das vom Diablo Supercorsa, einem der besten SSP Reifen (SuperSport-Klasse der World SuperBike Rennserie) von Pirelli. Winkel, Querschnitte und Abstände des Profilmusters wurden genau untersucht, um seine Performance bei Wasserableitung, Trocken- und Nasshaftung, Laufleistung, Reaktionsverhalten sowie Fahrkomfort und Handling zu optimieren. Das Reifenprofil erinnert an Blitze und bildet in der Mitte der Lauffläche sehr spitze Winkel mit ausgeprägten lateralen Öffnungen an den Seiten für optimierte Wasserableitung und glattes Abrollverhalten sowie gleichmäßige Abnutzung. Zusätzlich verfügt das Reifenprofil über progressive Tiefe für verbesserte Haltbarkeit und optimale Kontrolle selbst in extremer Kurvenlage. Die Lauffläche der P Zero™ Velo ist aus drei verschiedenen Abschnitten aufgebaut: die Mitte besteht aus einer glatten Oberfläche für optimalen Geradeauslauf, auf beiden Seiten schließen stärker profilierte Bereiche an für optimales Kurvenverhalten, die in Semi-Slick Ränder übergehen für unmittelbare Rückmeldung im Grenzbereich bei Kurvenfahrt. Das Ergebnis ist optimaler Reifenkontakt unter allen Fahrzuständen.

IZur optimalen Gestaltung von Kontur und Aufbau der neuen P Zero™ Velo Reifen setzte Pirelli die ICS (Ideal Contour Shaping) Technologie ein. Der Einsatz von CAD Software unter konsequenter Verwendung der wissenschaftlichen Finite-Elemente-Methode (FEM) diente zur Optimierung der Konstruktionsparameter für die Reifenkontur und zur Simulation der Leistungsperformance. Somit bieten die P Zero™ Velo Reifen die optimale Synthese von Grip, Fahrstabilität sowie Reaktions- und Kontrollverhalten in den unterschiedlichen Fahrsituationen (Geraden, Gefälle und Kurven).

Ebenso optimiert, wurden die Dimensionen und die Dicke des Schlauches, um einen besseren Luftrückhalt zu gewährleisten und die Dehnung zu reduzieren um den besten Pannenschutz für den Reifen zu garantieren.
