Easton's direct mount chainrings use a new narrow / wide design specifically tailored for road / CX / gravel applications. The custom tooth profile has evolved from the traditional symmetrical shape to a more directionally specific design to provide positive chain roller engagement, which aids chain retention and is critical to preventing chain slippage and bounce over rough terrain.
